Overview:
This course will enable personnel to meet the Awarding Bodies requirement for the need to hold a recognised teaching qualification for delivery of training to adult learners. The C&G 7302 provides an introduction for those who wish to train or teach, and is suitable for instructors in commerce, industry, public sector or HM forces, and anyone required to deliver training of any description to adult learners.

Course includes:
Key principles of delivering learning, planning and preparing sessions, delivery of a micro-teaching session, learning programmes, learning journal and summerative profile.

 
 
 
   
   
Medical Gases [O2 and N2O] Administration - Instructor

Overview:
This course provides knowledge and skills to teach the safe administration of oxygen and nitrous oxide (entonox). It is suitable for persons who wish to instruct on the correct use of medical gases (oxygen and nitrous oxide) to others. Before instructing others, instructors should hold a nationally recognised teaching or training certificate (see C&G 7302 Instructors course).

Entry requirements:
All applicants should have held a recognised oxygen and nitrous oxide administration competent user award for at least 1 year, and an in-date HSE approved First Aid at Work certificate or equivalent standard.

Course includes:
Review of basic life support, basic airway management, oxygen and nitrous oxide administration procedures and delivery systems, precautions and contra indications when using oxygen and nitrous oxide, using oxygen resuscitation equipment, using manual and automatic aspirators, risk assessment and hazards when using oxygen, the structure of an oxygen and nitrous oxide administration course, preparing objectives and learning outcomes, lesson preparation and planning, question technique, developing student course notes.

Automated External Defibrillation [AED] - Instructor

Overview:
This course provides knowledge and skills to teach the safe use of AED's. It is suitable for persons who wish to instruct on the correct use of AED’s to others. Before instructing others, instructors should hold a nationally recognised teaching or training certificate (see C&G 7302 Instructors course).

Entry requirements:
All applicants should have held a recognised AED - competent user award for at least
1 year.

Course includes:
Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines, cardiac anatomy and physiology, shockable and non-shockable rhythms, using different types of AED, data transfer and downloading procedures, cardiac arrest scenarios, the structure of an AED course, preparing objectives and learning outcomes, lesson preparation and planning, question technique, developing student course notes.

 
 
 
 
 
   
   
First Aid Instructor

Overview:
This course provides extended training knowledge and first aid awareness to teach a
variety of first aid subjects. It is suitable for persons who want to instruct and assess
HSE approved First Aid at Work (FAW) courses in accordance with the HSE First Aid Regulations and Approved Code of Practice, and other publicly available first aid courses. Before instructing others, instructors should hold a nationally recognised teaching or training certificate (see C&G 7302 Instructors course).

Entry requirements:
All applicants should hold, as a minimum, an in-date HSE Approved First Aid at Work certificate.

Course includes:
First aid lesson plans, learning outcomes and skills competence assessment criteria for first aid subjects, structure of and instructional techniques for theory and practical subjects, learning confirmation, questioning techniques, answering techniques, setting tests, setting and meeting teaching objectives, practice teaching sessions, use of first aid visual aids, environmental considerations, assessment procedures, record keeping, personal portfolios of training and on-going professional development, student interaction, disability issues, cultural issues and first aid protocols, updates on new or advanced procedures,

Overview:
This combined course provides a recognised teaching qualification together with extended training knowledge and first aid awareness to teach a variety of first aid subjects. It is suitable for persons who want to instruct and assess HSE approved First Aid at Work (FAW) courses in accordance with the HSE First Aid Regulations and Approved Code of Practice, and other publicly available first aid courses.

Entry requirements:
All applicants should hold, as a minimum, an in-date HSE Approved First Aid at Work certificate.

Course includes:
Both the C&G 7302 course and the First Aid Instructors course as a 10 day block
course (Mon – Fri). Week 1 will be the C&G 7302 course, and week 2 the First Aid Instructors course.
