Overview:
This course provides increased knowledge and skills to help EMT’s and any other emergency care provider to better assess and manage ill, injured, or disabled
elderly patients.

Course includes:
Aging and changes with age, communicating with older patients and their caregivers,
older patient assessment and interview, end of life care issues, musculoskeletal disorders and falls, trauma, immobilisation, neurological emergencies, resuscitation issues, stroke, immobilisation, respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies, elder abuse and neglect, pharmacology and medication interactions, dementia, delirium,
intravenous therapy.
