Overview:
This course represents a comprehensive source of pre-hospital medical
information for the emergency care of infants and children. Developed
by the American Academy of Pediatrics, PEPP is a program designed specifically
to teach pre-hospital professionals how to better assess and manage
ill or injured children. It is suitable for paramedics, EMT's, doctors
and nurses.
Entry
requirements:
IHCD Technician, IHCD Paramedic, EMT Advanced, Medical Doctor, RGN.
Course
includes:
Paediatric assessment, respiratory emergencies, airway obstruction,
paediatric oral and nasopharyngeal airways, bvm ventilation, endotracheal
intubation, tracheostomy management, intravenous IV access, intra-osseous
infusion, cardiovascular emergencies, spinal immobilisation, sudden
infant death syndrome, death of a child, child maltreatment, special
healthcare needs, medical emergencies, trauma, toxic emergencies, children
in disasters, emergency delivery and newborn stabilisation, medico-legal
and ethical considerations, transportation considerations. |
